DAVE WENZEL, SECRETARY - TREASURER S68 W17281 ROSSMAR CT. - MUSKEGO, WI 53150 262-679-3212, ddrywl@sbcglobal.net July 2011 Members While its summer in Wisconsin, traffic cones and mosquitoes. After 3 months of crutches and walkers I was released to drive and walk again. I won't be at 100% for another 7 months but I am getting around just fine. Enclosed on the back side of President Bosanko's letter you will find an application to our September conference, please consider attending. You will also find a flyer for our 4th annual golf outing for the end of August. We look forward to hearing from the previous players and hope some of you who haven't attended in the past give it a try. Up for elections this year are President Bosanko, Board Members McIntyre and Placek. If any one wishes to run for a position please let me know. Also as always please let me know of any deaths from your retirees. Many of your Board Members attended a retirement coalition conference in May. The news is still not good the fund still has 5.1 billion dollars to recover from the loss 3 years ago. It will take an investment return of 19.5% to 21.7% to avoid another negative annuity adjustment next May. While this is bad it could be worse. IAFF 5th District VP Joe Conway Jr. reported to our Board that in Minnesota retirees pensions have been reduced per month between $300 and $700 and some have been billed for overpayment for as much as $70,000. As Joe Stroh's report indicates at this time retiree's should be safe but as long as those that currently control the state retain their power anything could happen. Don't forget our web site rpffw.org for clothing, decals etc. Also consider signing up to receive these newsletters and other notifications by email and save the RPFFW some mail costs. A little old lady was sitting on a park bench in The Villages, a Florida Retirement Community. A man walked over and sits down on the other end of the bench. After a few moments, the woman asks, 'Are you a stranger here?' He replies 'I lived here years ago.' 'So where were you all these years?' 'In prison.' He says. 'Why did they put you in prison?' He looked at her, and very quietly says 'I killed my wife.' 'Oh!' said the woman. 'So you're single!' A man was telling his neighbor in Miami, 'I bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but its state of the art. It's perfect.' 'Really,' answered the neighbor. 'What kind is it?' 'Twelve thirty' Take care everyone and have a great summer. Dave. |
