Brothers and Sisters

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer, its starting to heat up to the dog days of summer, too hot for me. We had a little F-1 tornado pass through Muskego a couple of weeks ago. No damage to the area we live in but lots of trees snapped or blown over and some roofs blown off a couple of blocks away.

Our membership currently sits at 751 we had 27 members not renew this year and 17 passed away. If you are aware of any member passing away please let me know. Of the 751, 102 are over 80, 26 new over 80 from last year and 59 of the 102 paid to PAC with 17 paying full dues.

Well by now you realize that your core pension dropped for the second straight year and will continue to drop for the next 3 unless the fund makes up the 9.5 billion that it is still short from 2 years ago. If the fund earns its benchmark of 7.8% the May 2011 return will still be a -1.8% to a 12.2% it will take an increase of 20.2% to 21.4% to receive the minimum increase of .5%

I've had a few members ask if its true that since the new health care bill passed that the monies paid by municipalities for health insurance will be added to w-2 forms and become taxable for retirees. This is not true if you us the internet you can go to snopes.com and check it out.

Our annual conference will be September 23 in Madison and a sign up form is enclosed. Up for election this year is Tom Speranza for VP, my self for Sec/Treas and board members Healy and Woodrich. If anyone is interested in running for any position please let me know.

On the back side of the conference application you will find a flyer for the Milwaukee Brewers. They are having August 11 and 12 as fire fighter/ paramedic days. You can purchase tickets for 50% in select areas the 11th is a night game and the 12th a day game. If you do not have internet you can call Ivan Ignatowsi at the number listed, even if you do not want more then 20 tickets.

Doctor Tim had slept with one of his patients and felt guilty all day long.

No matter how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn't.

The guilt and sense of betrayal were overwhelming.

But every now and then he would hear an internal reassuring voice in his head that said "Tim, don't worry about it. You aren't the first medical practitioner to sleep with one of their patients. And your single, just let it go".

But invariably another voice in his head would whisper him back to reality, whispering Tim, Tim, Tim you're a vet.

So as we age many of us myself included start suffering from hearing loss and some of us more so then others.

My friend John filed for workers comp for hearing loss as many others have and he received a settlement and purchased a state of the art hearing aid, very expensive.

I asked him what kind was it and he said "twelve - thirty". But we can put a guy on the moon.

Hope to see a lot of you at our fall conference, until next time stay healthy and enjoy life.
